Top Ten Life Changing Reads

So I thought “Top Ten Life Changing Reads” would be a slightly more enticing title than “Top Ten Favorite Reads” but, while I can’t promise that these books will change your life, they certainly influenced me profoundly and I hope that if you do decide to read any of them that they bring you as much enjoyment and wonder as they did for me.

  1. Mother Angelica’s Little Book of Life Lessons and Everyday Spirituality by Mother Angelica
  2. Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton
  3. The Matchmaker of Perigord by Julia Stuart
  4. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  5. Persuasion by Jane Austen
  6. The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank by Erma Bombeck (anything by her is always hilarious)
  7. The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis
  8. You’ll Get Through This by Max Lucado
  9. 33 Days to Morning Glory: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat In Preparation for Marian Consecration by Fr. Michael E. Gaitley
  10. A Coal Miner’s Bride: the Diary of Anetka Kaminska
    by Susan Campbell Bartoletti

*Bonus: If you have children or want a book that will make you feel poignant joy about being alive Grandpa Green by Lane Smith is an amazing children’s book. (I used to teach PreK and a good book is a good book.)
